My-Nga Ingram

Westview High School
San Diego, CA
My-Nga started her research career at The Scripps Research Institute in the Department of Cell Biology. At Scripps, her primary focus was the purification and characterization of fibroblast growth factor. She then moved to the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research at the UCSD campus in the department of Cancer Genetics where she researched the mismatch repair system and its connection to colorectal cancer. Eventually her passion for biology took her out of the laboratory and into the classroom. She started her career in education in middle school and after some time moved into the high school setting. She has been a teacher fellow for the UCSD COSMOS program for many summers in Cluster 8: Molecular Biology Revolution and Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine. Currently she is the department co-chair, heads the AP Biology program at Westview High school and is an AP Reader for the AP Biology exam.
