Interactive Science Notebooks: Low Tech Creations for Higher Level Thinking

Log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Come learn how to use Interactive Notebooks in a science classroom. The session will begin with the brain-based science behind Interactive Notebooks, and why they work for students. Participants will be provided with student work samples and example lessons using Interactive Notebooks. Using Interactive Notebooks helps students build their scientific vocabulary and critical thinking skills by asking students to take Cornell Notes, followed by an application activity based on the notes. Additionally, use Interactive Notebooks for lab procedures, data, and analysis. Having most or all course materials in one place simplifies the class and helps keep many students on track. An added benefit of Interactive Notebooks is that they help to teach students organizational and study skills.
