Public Participation in Scientific Research (PPSR) has gained momentum in recent years and Citizen Science is now a nationally and internationally recognized professional field. Citizen Science is an authentic way to engage students in science and to connect with research around the globe and in our own community of San Diego. After a brief overview of the history of Citizen Science, participants will be introduced to a variety of citizen science projects and resources for K-12 Educators. Presenters Shelley Glenn Lee and Matt Leader will share some personal experiences with using Citizen Science in Project Based Learning (PBL) at both the Elementary and High School levels.
