We will introduce our two-week curriculum that teaches the history of the U.S. eugenics movement and its impact on modern genetic technologies. Evidence supports that discussion of ethical issues enhances student engagement. In particular, the historical eugenics movement can inform modern practices related to genetic testing and gene editing technologies, such as CRISPR.
