Stimulating Learning with Simulations

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

One of the problems in learning chemistry is the inability to visualize what is occurring during a chemical reaction or described by an instructor.  Another problem is the inability of students to try multiple strategies for solving problems and/or receiving timely feedback on those attempts.  Three simulations have been developed in collaboration with Cal Poly Pomona’s eLearning team; this session will demonstrate websites aimed at helping learners of chemistry visualize how the periodic table is organized, how to make Dot Structures and ionic compounds, what happens during chemical equilibrium. Simulations are free for all users. Bring your own device to play along. Focuses on HS-PS1-1, HS-PS1-2, HS-PS1-6.
