Hands-on Chemistry with Supermarket Chemicals

Solids, Liquids, and Gasses, OH MY! Come play with chemicals you can use in your classroom! This session shares ways to safely working with a variety of chemicals in order to observe chemical reactions. The chemicals are all inexpensive and found in the supermarket, or a drug or home improvement store; there is no need to "order ahead". These chemicals are safe to use even in classrooms without a sink. This session is appropriate for all teachers. Addresses PS1.A and PS1.B for grades 2, 5, MS and HS, along with PEs 2-PS1-1, 5-PS1-3, 5-PS1-4, 3-5-ETS1, 3-5-ETS-2, 3-5-ETS-3, MS-PS1-2, MS-PS1-6, HS-PS1-4.
